One of the best beaches on Ishigaki Island, Yonehara Beach is surrounded by a coral reef alive with thousands of colorful tropical fish. Next to the beach is an extremely popular camp site where many people stay for entire summers. The camp grounds also rents snorkeling equipment to help people get a closer look at the under water eco system in the amazing blue ocean at this Okinawa beach.

There are a few things to be aware of at Yonehara Beach when swimming or snorkeling. Offshore there are strong currents and rip tides that can easily pull you out to sea and the poisonous “Habu Jellyfish” is found in these waters. Yonehara Beach has showers and toilet facilities available to help make fun in the sand enjoyable for all.
