Okinawa Japan photography group featuring unique pictures of Okinawa
These tidal pools are a living aquarium in nature. This phenomenon occurs in the spring when the tide is low; the water level near the coast becomes so low that parts of the coral reefs are exposed in tidal pools. These coral tidal pools allow for easy observation of reef life for children, the elderly, the physically challenged, or those with limited experience in the ocean and may not be able to easily dive or snorkel in the open ocean.
The tidal pools are alive with living coral and other marine life like Starfish, crabs, and shrimp. It is easy to observe these creatures along with many others eating and surviving in a fascinating eco system.
