Located in the most Northern Part of Okinawa’s main island Kunigami Village (国頭村) stretches out over a large area (194.80 km²) but has a small population of fewer than 6,000 residents.

Kunigami Village is a nature lover’s paradise and has some of the best “Eco tourism” destinations Okinawa has to offer. Besides beautiful Okuma beach much of the inland area of Kunigami Village area such as the Yanbaru Forest is unspoiled nature and supports a rich eco system with many rare and endangered species of plants and animals.
