Tohoku Rakuten Eagles Baseball Camp, Kumejima Island Japan

Back in 2005 Japanese Major League Baseball team Rakuten Eagles starting holding their spring training camp on Kumejima Island. The camp initially took place at Nakazato Baseball field but the field was ill equipped to handle the needs of the pro baseball team. In 2006 a brand new stadium was built and simply named Kumejima Baseball Stadium. Now the Rakuten Eagle’s minor league team trains at Nakazato Baseball field, giving the massive amount of fans that come to this small Okinawa Island, 100 km West of Naha City two places to go and scope out their favorite players before the up coming season.
