With its emerald green and blue hues Kabira Bay is considered one of the most beautiful places in Japan and definitely on the top of the list for Okinawa. Swimming in the bay is not allowed due to the fast moving tides, but glass bottom boats let you take a look at the bay's underwater world. The boat rides start at around 9:00 am and finish around 5:00 pm, costing around 1,000 yen per person and last for about 30 minutes.

Kabira Bay is one of only two cultivation sites of black pearls in Japan. The other is on nearby Iriomote Island. Ryukyu Black Pearl's are known worldwide for quality and beauty.

There is a look out area at Kabira bay that allows for breathtaking views of the scenery. The lookout point is only a short walk away from the black pearl show room where you can look at displays explaining how these beautiful  Okinawa jewels are cultivaited.
