Zamami Yacht Race

Every June a prestigious yacht race with a 52-kilometer-long course takes place between Ginowan Marina and Zamami Island. More than 20 boats with over 100 sailors speed towards Zamami Island in this Okinawa competition with long running tradition.

Yachts over 21 feet in length cut through seas towards their goal of winning the days fierce contest. In the oceans surrounding Okinawa Island they race tours through seas where Hump Backed Whales are a common sight and sea turtles swim to near by beaches to lay their eggs.
