Yomitan Yachimun Matsuri - Pottery Festival

One of the things Yomitan Okinawa is known for is its pottery. With many the top potters moving to Yomitan over the past few decades this annual event promises to offer some great deals on some of the best pottery in Okinawa. Located at Zampa Cape Park the scenery is nice and it can be a fun day even just to browse this interesting market in the open fresh air near the coast.

The Yomitan Pottery Festival is one of the first major Okinwan festivals of the year and draws large crowds looking for deals or just looking at the many goings on of the weekend. Charity auctions are usually scheduled and visitors can get the chance to see the masters of Okinawa pottery using their years of honed skills to make their master pieces right in front of your eyes.

If you’re looking to buy hand crafted shisa dogs for a souvenir, coffee cups, dishes, or bowls you can find them at special 20-50% discounts at the annual Yomitan Yachimun Matsuri. The festival also has a program that allows guest to try their hand at pottery making.
