Transportation in Naha City

Naha Airport and Naha Port serve the city. Naha Airport is the transportation hub of the Ryukyu Islands. Naha is perhaps the only place in Okinawa where you can get around without a car. This is because the Yui Rail monorail system, carries passengers from Naha Airport Station to the center of Naha, Kokusai Dori, Shintoshin, and to the terminal at Shuri Station, which is closest to Shuri Castle, and provides convenient access to many other parts of the city as well. There are also a number of bus routes that run through Naha. However having a car to get around can make things more convenient and if you wish to go anywhere on the rest of the main Okinawa Island a car is most necessary.
