Orion Beer Festival, Ishigaki-jima

Cheap BEER! Good FOOD! Live ENTERTAINMENT! It doesn’t get much better during a hot Okinawa summer than the Orion Beer festival.

On the small Island of Ishigaki-jima each year Okinawa’s own beer, Orion Beer sponsors a mid summer event that draws crowds of over 15,000 people. Taking place at Shin-ei Park people show up to find food stalls selling all the typical grilled and fried delicacies as well as a large amount of Orion beer stands selling the freshest brewed draft beer at discount prices.

The beer festival starts in the late afternoon and features a line-up of Okinawa entertainment, putting on live performances throughout the day and into the evening. The festivities are topped off by a magnificent fireworks display that is the perfect end to the party.
