Everyone in Okinawa Knows Nago for its January Cherry blossom Festival but the rest of the year there is much to celebrate in this Northern Okinawa city. In early August Nago plays host to the Nago City Mayor's Cup Dragon-boat Race, the National championships of dragon boat racing. For flower enthusiasts many events are held throughout the year like the pressed flower contest and the Hana-no-sato Garden Festival.
