Nago Central Park

The park located near the city center of Nago Okinawa plays host to the Nago City spring cherry blossom festival one of the biggest in Okinawa. The park also contains the ruins to the ancient Nago Castle.
Besides Nago Central Park’s popularity during January’s cherry blossom festivals it is a fun and relaxing place to visit the rest of the year as well. With well marked walking paths, many of them paved a visitor could take two or tree days to explore all there is to see in this Northern Okinawa Park.
Nago Park is set high in the hills above Nago city so while enjoying the walking trails spectacular views of the clear waters of the East China Sea and Nago city can be enjoyed.
Also the trails lead to a pedestrian bridge covering a ravine that once crossed reveals some well landscaped shrines.
One of the most popular destinations in Nago Central Park in the playground and its elaborate equipment. Many families with small children make a special point to stop by the park on their way to other parts of Northern Okinawa to give the kids a chance to play on some of the best playground equipment in Okinawa. There’s a huge climbing net that connect to more structures, swings, roller slides, nets, fireman poles, see-saws, a zip-line, and some other great apparatuses. Most importantly there is wide open space for the youngsters to run around like drunken monkeys and not damage anything. Much of the equipment is geared towards 4 year olds and above but smaller children could enjoy it with careful supervision.
