Hoshidate Natural Conservation District Okinawa Iriomote Island

For Nature lovers and “Eco-tourists” it doesn’t get much better in Okinawa than the Hoshidate natural conservation district. An area of 24ha. set aside for conservation by the Iriomote government.

This pristinely preserved natural environment stretches from the Hoshidate Community to the Urauchi River. Contained within it is an extremely large mangrove forest, large-sized Miomimochishida, Yaeyama palm trees, evergreens, Yaeyama hirugi, and many other species of plants and vegetation. There is also a thriving wild life community contained in this eco-system consisting mostly of small creatures.
