Okinawa will again become the target of a tropical system this weekend.
Typhoon Malou, the 9th tropical cyclone in Japan this year, formed Friday afternoon about 470 kilometers southeast of Okinawa, Japan, and was moving northwest at a speed of 36 kilometers an hour.
The strong winds and torrential rain will persist into August 4th to 5th as Malou passes by.The winds will be of minimal tropical storm force, but they will still be capable of causing some tree damage and power outages.

A strong Typhoon Kompasu (Typhoon No.7) stroke Okinawa directly with winds of hurricane strength and torrential rain early Tuesday.
As of 9pm August 30th, the center of Typhoon Kompasu was located about 230km south of Minami Daitou Is.
Also there are another 2 typhoon Lionrock(No. 6) in Tiwan area and Typhoon Namtheun(No.8) located on the Yonaguni Island.Tropical Storm Lionrock is forecast to land on the shores of southeastern China west of Taiwan at midweek.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agent, a tropical storm beginning to pound west of Naha reached Typhoon strength on Friday. There is a waring of heavy rain in Nago city area. There are no flight cacellation but we strongly suggest to check your flight company website or travel agent for update.

New shopping center and entertainment center is now open in Mihama American Village in Chatan.

Ise-Ebi, known as Japanese spiny lobsters(Panulirus Japonicus) are in season in Miyako Island!
Ise Ebi lobsters are popular idem in high-class Japanese cuisine. It's usually served as sashimi, BBQ, frying and roasting alive.

Mie and Chiba prefecture are account for most percentage of the domestic catch but usually their season start in late August.
But in Miyakojima Island you can enjoy this yummy lobster in most restaurants.
