Festival of Ryukyu 2009
The Festival of Ryukyu is coming to Okinawa at the end of October!
Throughout the 24-25 prepare to amerce yourself in the amazing Okinawa culture.
The parade is traditionally used to celebrate the birth and development of diverse dance and culture.
The traditional “eisa” dance will be featured in the festival among various regions’ folk dance parade, and booths, where many countries products and culture will be introduced.
The festival will also feature the”princess parade”, where the women will march along the downtown park zone to demonstrate their beautiful outfits. The princess parade will be split into 3 sections.
The first will be the standard course which will cost 500 yen and feature the women’s personally created outfits and makeup. The second will be the Mermaid course, which will cost 5000 yen and fill feature rented outfits. Last but definitely not least is the Cinderella course which will cost 10000 yen. The Cinderella course will feature professionally designed dresses and makeup. All three sections will feature beautiful women in stunning outfits, it is not a parade you will want to miss.
The highlight on the festival is the amazing “Hatagashira,” a sport where men balance an enormous flag pole with heavy decorations on the top. The Festival of Ryukyu is not an event that you will want to miss. The food and the entertainment will be amazing and it is not an experience you will forget, or want to leave.
