Bibi Beach, Itoman City Okinawa

This southern Okinawa beach was opened in 2006 and is popular destination for southerners as it is only a 20 minute drive from Naha Airport. Watching over the fine white sand and clear blue water of Bibi beach are five life guards during Okinawa “beach season” (April-October). Bibi Beach has a wide array of facilities to help you enjoy your day at the beach they include beach umbrellas, lounge chairs, showers, restrooms, a changing area, flotation rentals, a snack bar, and plenty of picnic areas with covered benches.

One of the most popular activities at Bibi beach is firing up the old BBQ. Families and groups of young people can be seen all throughout the year barbequing and playing beach party games on the sand or on the green grass located next to the beach that is perfect for a picnic. Bibi beach has a unique facility for Okinawa beaches, visitors can rent a BBQ for 3,500 yen per day or purchase food for barbequing from a shop right on the beach. And example of a 5 person set for 5,000 yen is:

Marinated beaf 1,250g
Yakitori(chicken on a stick) 10sticks
10 Sausages
750g of vegetables
5 half cut corn

There is also a shopping center located near to the beach where food can be purchased or take a trip to near by Itoman fish market and buy some fish to through on the barby!

The only downside to Bibi beach is the no pet rule, so if you have a dog leave it at home. Also there are no fishing signs posted on the beach and the rule tends to be enforced by the life guards but I guess this is why this beach is one of the most pristine Southern Okinawa beaches.
